IndiGO Ranked 103 among ‘World's Worst Airlines’ in Survey’, Everything You Need to Know

InterGlobe Aviation or Indigo has been ranked among the “world's worst airlines” this year. The national carrier was ranked 103rd place out of 109 in the 2024 AirHelp Score report. The poor rating can be attributed to below par customer service and poor handling of flight disruption claims. IndiGo shunned the methodology by “casting doubt on the survey’s credibility.”

AirHelp is an EU-based claim processing agency, which conducts this survey. Across the globe, it ranks airlines on the basis of punctuality, quality of service, and handling of compensation claims. The survey covers data from January to October by keeping a tap on time-bound performance, customer claims processing and feedback from passengers across 54 countries on food, comfort, and service.

AirHelp CEO Tomasz Pawliszyn said the rankings aim to “encourage airlines to continuously listen to passenger feedback.”

Brussels Airlines secured first in the list with a score of 8.12 followed by Qatar Airways (8.11) and United Airlines (8.04). Tata-owned Air India was placed 61st with a score of 6.15. Meanwhile, Tunisair stood last at 109.

What did IndiGo say?

The airline refuted the claims of the survey and have raised questions on its methodology and transparency. It said, “As India's most preferred airline, IndiGo refutes the findings of this survey and reiterates its promise of on-time, affordable, courteous and hassle-free travel experience for its customers.”
